Am I missing something? How does it only have 4500 miles on it since 88? Beautiful truck though.

Wouldn’t that engine alone cost over seven grand?

It’s kind of terrible as an engine. It’s also a less reliable engine than the one they replaced, unless it’s an updated one.

Was the 6.2 good?

Not really. Buy one cheap, swap in a 12V Cummins/NV4500 combo, and then enjoy it. Or find out that old trucks suck to drive.

Did it have a lot of power no. But we had one that we sold with 379k on it and we saw the truck 4 years later with over 500k. It also used to average 27mpg on the highway. So I take that as a win.

I’ve driven my neighbors ‘67 Chevy C10 stepside with a 327 and a 3 speed manual (that’s connected with welded chain and a beer pull acting as a shifter), and it’s a real tirp. Manual brakes, manual steering, 350 HP with terrible gearing, too.

EDIT: Oh and it has 622,000 miles on the body.

While I’d love to have my Grandfather’s old ‘73 GMC Camper Special(it had 36k miles on it when they sold it in the mid-2000's) for sentimental value, I’ve never really enjoyed driving old trucks. In fact, the only full size trucks I enjoy driving are 3/4 ton and up, because they are less comfort oriented and floaty, yet somewhat connected.
